More Distraction

I have a crazy day today - good crazy, dropping off fabrics and furniture - but there will be time later this afternoon where I can indulge in this...

Rue Magazine March / April 2012 Issue

And I cannot wait to get my technical hands on this Ivy & Piper cover - gorgeous!

Ivy & Piper's March Issue is out Monday, but Sunday to IvP on here to sign up.

Elizabeth and Melanie are so lovely and this just shines through each magazine they issue. Thank you both. A x.

Quadrille Kazak

As you can see, I'm still in catch up mode! I will come clean and say I have only just seen this image from Lonny's January 11th blog post.

The headboard is Quadrille's Kazak in Blue, and it really is a striking fabric.

James Andrew's Apartment ( aka What Is James Wearing?)

Annie Loveridge Interiors

Such pretty blues I think.

There are some other fabulous colourways in this beautiful design...

Jennifer Connell at Fun House Furnishings and Design

Eddie Ross - an oldie but a goodie...the pic that is, not Mr Ross

Such a happy, upbeat fabric for a sunny day. I hope you're all having a lovely week. Annie x.

Some Calm...

...amidst the pre Christmas craziness, Ivy and Piper's December 2011/ January 2012 (argh) Issue is here and what a picture of calm the cover is.

How pretty is that?

I am having blinds fitted in our bedroom, the guest room and play room today. I have discovered in the last few days that whilst blinds are a fabulous way to display fabric and infuse colour into a room, they are also very good for keeping out the morning sunrise. We have had a quilt hanging on our window since last Tuesday and I think the neighbours are wondering who the new riff raff is!

Boxes are being emptied and a sense of calm being restored to our family. We had 15 people over for lunch on Sunday and this house worked really well for entertaining. It has very good Kiwi "indoor/outdoor flow"!

I am off to look at what lies beyond that beautiful cover. Melanie and Elizabeth just keep surprising with their beautiful mix of fabulous design and down to earth, real approach. Their magazine always feels very 'kind' and puts a smile on my face. Thank you both x.

Friday Ramblings

I am off shortly to help set up for our school's Guy Fawkes' fundraiser tomorrow night.
After a busy week in Fabricland, this should be a cracking break...yes, weak, I know....

If I can set up cake stands and chocolate wheels in time, this awaits at home...

Matchbook Magazine November Issue

Anna Spiro over at Absolutely Beautiful Things released her Summer 2011 Vignette yesterday. It is beautifully shot, so pretty, and full of, well, absolutely beautiful things.
I even spied a cushion in this lovely lot that Anna has designed using Quadrille's China Seas Ziggurat in French Blue.
Isn't that setting just so inviting?

Summer 2011 - Cushions

Blue and White Geometric Cushion

And from the files of 'truly odd' here is Colin Mathura Jeffree - NZ's Next Top Model host and mentor - at last night's NZ Music Awards.

Channeling his inner Lady Gaga, apparently, in his meat dress.

Eeeeuck! So here's something somewhat tamer to take us into the weekend...

Ohhhhhhh, right?

We settle on our new house today, although we don't move for another month.
Painters start on Monday morning.
Somewhere between now and then, I have to have made a decision (NOT my strength) between Antique White USA, Whisper White, Rice Cake...trim contrast/no contrast???
Why is this so much harder when it's one's own home? This is not life saving surgery???

Wherever you are, I hope you all have a very happy weekend. Annie x.

A Few of my Favourite Things

Have you checked out Ivy & Piper's Anniversary Issue yet? You should. Here. It's happy and full of colour.

I thought I'd share a few of my favourite pages, this being my number 1...

I just think this photo of Ivy & Piper's Melanie and her baby, Penelope, is so lovely...

Okay, here's a plug for Quadrille's Paradise pretty in this bedroom...

I love large scale paintings and this one has so much going for it...

Thank you girls. As always, your magazine is a delight to read. Annie x.

Images all from here.

It's Raining Magazines

Online ones...really fabulous ones. Adore Home Magazine's New York Edition is online now, here.

Reading their blog, this issue sounds fantastic....and while you're there, have a look at the gorgeous photos from their birthday celebration at Magnolia Interiors in Brisbane. Beautiful!

I've already spied some Alan Campbell fabric in one of the magazine's feature homes, and it's lunch time...more happy reading to you all x.

There Will Be No Work Done...

...but that is okay because it's in the name of 'research'. More loveliness in this morning's Inbox. Covet Garden Issue 15 is here.

Happy Days and happy reading x.

More Distraction!

It must be that time of year...Rue Magazine's 1st Birthday Issue is here now.

I am still poring over Ivy & Piper's Anniversary Issue - there are so many beautiful, colourful homes in there. Is anyone else finding they're not spending as much time reading old fashioned magazines? Happy reading. Annie x.

Ivy and Piper - Celebration Issue

It's here...Ivy and Piper's Celebration Issue!

The October/November issue celebrates Ivy and Piper's 1st birthday...and they've launched a new website to coincide with it....and Melanie had a baby girl a few months back! I know...they're amazing!

I am very flattered to have been asked to feature in their Interior Motives section. Page 143 sees me, with GHDs well applied, extolling the virtues of filling your guests up on wine to ensure the celebration is a success.

Thank you Elizabeth and Melanie, and congratulations on a year of producing such fabulous magazines. They are always inspiring and I look forward to each issue. Annie x.

Spring Showers...

...or horizontal rain with a reported tornado in the case of Auckland this spring day.

Our recent beautiful spring weather broke yesterday in torrential rain. Actually, I kinda liked obligation to leave the house and the girls revelled in staying in their pyjamas all day!

So I'm posting some happy yellow pics in the hope the sun will return soon.

Oh, how I love this coat...

And if you're stuck inside today, here's some major distraction.

Lonny Magazine's Sept/Oct 2011, two year anniversary issue is out now, here. Two years? Yikes!

So as I look out the window and see the rain pelting AT it, I will keep channeling this:

Happy Monday, whatever your weather x.

Ivy and Piper - The Style Issue

Honestly, I can't wait to open this...

These girls are so clever and their magazine is always a joy to read - grab your copy here. Can-not wait!

But, first, I need to attend to a little phone problem. Mine went through a full 40 degree cotton cycle yesterday. It is clean but 'ne marche pas'. Not good.

More Distraction!

The second issue of House of Fifty is now live!

Such a beautiful cover and 'Follow your Passion'...perfect.

The lovely Janell from Isabella and Max Rooms is behind this mag and if the first issue is anything to go by, this too will provide more fabulous online distraction. I am amazed by the talent and effort out there. Thank you Janell.

Enjoy x.

Island Ikat

I spied this fabulous terrace on the Quadrille Editorial page yesterday. What do you think?

It's the terrace of LA Designer, Emily Ruddo of Armonia Decors, and it is featured in the July/August issue of online magazine, High Gloss.

The ikat fabric on the chairs is China Seas Island Ikat, which is printed on Sunbrella, as used here, as well as linen/cotton. Have a look at Emily's blog about her terrace here.

Emily has used several fabrics from the Quadrille range, including some spanking new ones. I am loving the pink chairs - all of them...

Have a look at the feature, and other lovely things, in the L.A. Story Issue of High Gloss Magazine, here. Look at this for a pretty cover:

Have a very Happy Weekend x.

Coffee Time

On a cold, and can I say foggy (???), morning here in Auckland, the cover of Rue Magazine Issue 5 (here), looks perfect. Too pretty!

Perfect coffee fodder and that is what I shall be doing this morning x.

Now That I've Opened It...

...I can comment! As always, Lonny has come up with so many beautiful things to feast your eyes upon...and read. Here are a few of my faves...

A feature on Serena & Lily, here:

A look into the Lonny office makeover, here:

I am just swooning over the YELLOW carpet (ooooh, how I love yellow...) in Lisa Sherry's Minneapolis home, here:

And if you're on your i-pad with that fun pull-out function, you can home in on that bean bag (on the left), covered in China Seas Sigourney. I have been looking for something to use that fabric on ever since I spied it on a stool covered by Danika Herrick of Gorgeous Shiny Things, and now my daughters' bean bags are looking like likely targets! Why didn't I think of that earlier???

Angie Hranowsky's Charleston home, here:

Loving her Madeline Weinrib carpet - what depth of colour!

If you haven't already, have a read here. Thank you Lonny x.
