So Lovely.

Such a beautiful wedding; I thought William and Kate both looked so happy and relaxed and the wedding was just lovely to watch.

William reportedly joked with Kate's father that "we're supposed to have just a small family affair"!

I'll leave you with some photos - aren't they just gorgeous?

No, I'm Busy Sorry.

Go out? Tonight? Ummmm...no.

I shall be staying in, toasting the happy couple with a bubbly or two (any excuse really and this is a GOOD one).

Cannot wait to see Kate's dress...and the bridesmaids'. All very exciting and I so wish I was in London town right now. I was at school in London when Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson married in 1986. My parents went and joined the throngs lining the streets, and got some cracking photos, but being 16 I thought it was "so naff" to go (even though I stayed at home and watched the whole thing on the telly). I really regret not going.

I also remember being allowed to stay up late to watch the 'fairytale wedding' of Charles and Diana and being so besotted by Diana's dress...and in turn, so upset at all the nasty comments it attracted. As an 11 year old, I thought it was "magical".

Go on...watch. Enjoy. Happy weekend x.

Love It!

I just love the combination of this fabric:

China Seas Sigourney in Lilac

on this bench :

Such a vibrant design, colour and scale on this curved bench, by Danika Herrick over at Gorgeous Shiny Things. I was looking for a shade of 'purple' to use on some cushions and stumbled across this bench. The scale is too large for the cushions, but I would love to use Sigourney...somewhere...

Oooooh, I love it!

The Waikiki Edition

I saw the image of this reception area, whilst flicking through the March/April 2011 issue of Vogue Living (Australia)...again, and loved the colours. It's at Honolulu's newest hotel, The Waikiki Edition, and the "collage" of broken surfboards includes donations from the likes of Kelly Slater. Now, even I know who he is!

The hotel is a collaboration between Marriott Hotels and Ian Schrager - the man behind New York's Morgans, Paramount, Royalton and Gramercy Park and The Delano in Miami...how many trends in hotels did The Delano set?!

All guests are provided colourful sarongs and a ukelele in their room - my girls would LOVE it!

With Honolulu and Istanbul open, and Barcelona, Mexico City, Bangkok, South Beach, London due to open soon, it will be interesting to see how Ian Schrager's style works with a big hotel chain, such as Marriott.

I know I could do with a bit of this right now x.

Back from the Easter Holiday

I did it...I potted those plants that were becoming quite accustomed to their plastic containers!

I was inspired by this pic, below, in the April/May issue of Belle Magazine.

It's designed by Peter Fudge Gardens; have a look at his work here as it is beautiful and I love it! It have only just realised now, looking at these pics, that Peter's Dragon Trees sit magnificently raised above the underbed, whereas mine appear to be drowning. Oh well, there's a job to go on next weekend's list...

I was so disappointed with the quality of my photos on last Thursday's post, that I spent Friday morning investigating new cameras and getting totally lost in the world of Picasa. Pete suggested I check the lens, which was totally covered in 6 and 8 year old sticky fingerprints...those 25 odd photos of the dog that I hadn't taken should have alerted me to this earlier! Dumb, dumb, dumb...

Anyway, I did have fun in Picasa getting this clarity...

...out of this (sticky lens) photo:

Amazing difference huh? I am certainly no expert...technology and I are not BFFs. It seems so fiddly uploading to Blogger, so I'm sure I'm not doing it right. I'm guessing I will have to continue my apologies for poor photos. Sorry.

I was also sent an email from Myflatpack, the NZ importers of Ikea as NZ is about the only country in the western world with no Ikea, to say they have a new website, and very fancy it is too. I flicked to the 'Testimonials' page and saw this...

...our living room with the Ikea rug I had blogged about here. I really wish these guys well; they are doing a great job and are lovely to deal with. Check out their new website here.

I thought I'd leave you with a pic of one of my new fave fabrics, Wavelength by Alan Campbell at Quadrille Fabrics.

We have 2 similar chairs at the ends of our dining table and that fabric is looking likely to end up on them. Isn't it just fun?

Happy Easter From Bunny

Bunny, just hanging out with her mates at Easter...

...and overdoing it I guess...

Have a very Happy Easter with your mates and all the excesses that Easter allows. Annie (and of course, bunny) x.

Ramblings

Well, here I go again, rambling...thinking I'd share some of the things I've come across today. This was around the corner from home at Cox's Bay at 8.10 this morning (yes my friends, 8.10 IN THE MORNING):

Isn't it just beautiful? The mornings are getting cooler, but I thought the bay looked so pretty and serene.

Lily's favourite thing is elephants, so we had to drive back home past 'The Elephant House':

You have no idea how much joy is to be had by a 6 year old who loves elephants, to see that!

I gritted my teeth put on my Nigella hat and made chocolate Easter lollipops with the girls yesterday. I can be somewhat controlling, apparently, but I left them to their own devices as much as I could, and this is what they made:

Aren't they cute?

We have a 4 day holiday here and I am looking forward to potting some plants I bought a fortnight ago and relaxing at home. Just in time, this arrived in the post today:

Mmmm, am thinking I need a better camera, but I am feeling too calm to undo it all with an encounter with 'The Scanner' (grrrr). I've already spotted some Quadrille fabrics in there, and if I knew how to draw fancy arrows I would, but...

...top right and bottom left (above), and...

...middle left (above). Oh dear...

I love this front door,

there's a piece on Rifat Ozbek's new cushion boutique, Yastik (Turkish for 'cushion' and it looks AMAZING),

and Kit Kemp, of the Firmdale Hotel Group has scooped the 'Interior Designer' award in the Homes and Gardens Designer Awards 2011. I couldn't agree more - this woman is so talented.

And finally, this arrived in the post also:

Our old Sky remote was getting stuck and not behaving. What does it say that, as a family, we have worn out a remote control? Oh well, at least now we'll be all sorted to watch the re runs of Forest Gump (yes, really) and Gallipoli that I see Television New Zealand has in store for us!

Have a very Happy Easter. Eat, drink, have fun and relax. Be good with friends and family. Annie x.

Happy Days

Adore Home magazine now has a blog...happy, happy days! You just know it's going to be beautiful and look at today's post:

It's a sneaky peak of Anna Spiro's Brisbane shop, Black & Spiro, which will be featuring in Adore Home magazine's next issue. Gorgeous!

Well, it's school holidays here...Arabella has gone horse riding (gulp) so little sister is working the guilt factor beautifully. So, here she is this morning:

She is still in her PJ's because it is only 9.30am. That 'vessel' contains this:

Yes, 9.30 in the morning and already a hot chocolate and 3 marshmallows. Fabulous parenting huh?

So here's my big girls version:

Happy days x.
