I love Fiji. Peter and I had our honeymoon there and we've had some of our best family holidays with the girls there since. There are some truly beautiful Fijian island resorts and Huka Retreats has just completed a makeover of theirs - Dolphin Island.
Dolphin Island is a 13 acre retreat, off the northern coast of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu.
Huka Retreats encompasses the beautiful Huka Lodge (New Zealand) and Grand Provence Estate (South Africa), as well as Dolphin Island, in providing superior accommodation in surroundings that celebrate their location.
Virginia Fisher and Suzanne Turley, who have respectively provided the interior design and landscaping for Huka Lodge and Grande Provence, have teamed up again for the Dolphin Island renovation.
You know that being a Huka Retreat, the cuisine will be a celebration of local produce. The daily catch is brought to the guests to select their choice. Imagine!
The main bure, overlooking the pool, sits between the two guest bure suites.
Virginia Fisher is renowned for designing for the environment; her design is neither over cooked nor formulaic. It perfectly encapsulates the setting.
Her use of local products is sensitive and relevant.
Perfect, see below...
There is also a hill top sleep out bure with a thatched open air bedroom.
I think I could really enjoy a holiday here...
