Crosby Street Hotel

The Crosby Bar

I saw an article on The Australian website last Friday about The Crosby Street Hotel in New York celebrating its 1st birthday.  It is part of the Firmdale Hotels group, owned by Tim and Kit Kemp, who believe "hotels should be living things, not stuffy institutions", and my goodness don't they capture that beautifully? Kit Kemp is a self taught designer who takes her inspiration predominantly from art, mostly little known British artists.  I find her design so inspirational, so "real" and yet so sophisticated.

Firmdale Hotels have 6 hotels in London, including the Haymarket Hotel which I've written about previously.  Crosby Street Hotel is their first foray into the US market and this hotel is a new build, built to LEED standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), which is the US ecological standard.

Have a look and dream...

A drink at the Crosby Bar, for which I would need a new dress...

which would look like this:

If warm (not in December perhaps), we could take our drinks through to the Sculpture Garden:

...and then sleep it all off in one of the suites:

Please, pretty please can somebody magic me there!  Love it.
